1950 Javelin oddments

The time has come to dispose of various parts of the 1950 Javelin (Standard model with hydromechanical brakes) that I still have. There is nothing too exciting here, because most of the parts that were likely to be of use, were sold along with my 1951 Javelin. Nevertheless, before I chuck this stuff...

Bumper Grommets

As I recall it, I bought two from Bill Lock 3 1/2 years ago. I never used them and sent them to the purchaser of my car along with all the other spares.

Javelin Air Filter

This in the "for whatever it's worth category" from someone who no longer has a Javelin. Once you get your hands on the air filter assembly Tim, you may wish to consider doing what I did to replace the original (horsehair?) filter element. I fabricated a new element using layers of "U...

Well, thanks for the encouraging comments Tony; but I now have to report that the car was sold a couple of weeks ago. Today it was picked up from my home for the first leg of its journey to California. (I'm going to add a picture to my gallery to record the fact). The new owner is already a Jowett o...

I find now that I won't be available on the Saturday or Sunday. I can be online on Friday at 21:00 or whenever. I'll watch out for any further timing information.

An intriguing idea Keith. If I seriously thought there was a chance of it selling (I would have to have a reserve price on it), I would do it. Unfortunately, I don't have the technology at the moment to remote my webcam or move the car into the house! If you seriously think that it would be worthwhi...

Keeping in touch with Skype

Keith, I will certainly be available as per last year. There's nobody in particular that I would like to talk to -- I'm happy to talk to anyone. It was great to meet everyone last year. Of course if you come across anyone interested in importing a low mileage LHD Javelin with lots of parts, drag the...

My 1951 Javelin is for sale

Well it didn't sell! This despite over 2000 hits and quite a lot of correspondence with potential bidders. So it looks as if I'll be around here for a while -- I didn't really want to leave anyway!

My 1951 Javelin is for Sale

I've just added a brief movie clip of the engine running -- it seems to work. That's the clip as well as the engine!

My 1951 Javelin is for Sale

I have reluctantly decided to offer my restored Javelin for sale. I will offer it on eBay later this week. I am not however prepared to "give" it away -- so unless a suitable buyer can be found, I may still have it for a while! Anyway, I'll post more information here as soon as the eBay ad...

Jowetts in films

I've just come across this site: http://www.imcdb.org/, which seems to offer a comprehensive catalogue of the appearances of cars, listed by make, in films. If you go to the complete listing, you will find that there are seven references to Jowetts -- one Bradford, four Javelins and two Jupiters. Yo...

Rear Lights

I have a single rear light lens marked 461-1A -- it is slightly convex. You are welcome to it, if you can find a matching one. If you would like a picture of it, just send me an email. Also, Kip Motor (www.kipmotor.com) in the USA lists 461R (red) lenses in their orphan book (downloadable from their...
