My 1951 Javelin is for Sale
I have reluctantly decided to offer my restored Javelin for sale. I will offer it on eBay later this week. I am not however prepared to "give" it away -- so unless a suitable buyer can be found, I may still have it for a while! Anyway, I'll post more information here as soon as the eBay advertisement is up. In the meantime, I've put pictures of the car that will be used in the eBay listing in my personal Gallery.

I've just added a brief movie clip of the engine running -- it seems to work. That's the clip as well as the engine!

Well it didn't sell! This despite over 2000 hits and quite a lot of correspondence with potential bidders. So it looks as if I'll be around here for a while -- I didn't really want to leave anyway!

Hello Eric.
There's no reason why you should "leave anyway" even if you finally sell your Javelin. Many of us at Bingley NJW were pleased to have had the pleasure of not only speaking to you over the Internet, but actually seeing you all those miles away by the good grace of K.C. 's laptop and SKYPE.
I notice that you've been actively involved in 26 topics over the time of this site being available, and I think that you were the 4th person to register!
So, even if you have to sell the Javelin for whatever reason, just send the reduced Associate member fee off annually and keep Jowetteering. I have good friends Bob and Doris Mercer who have had to give up their Javelin (at Bob's age of 84 years power-steering is a must) but they are still avidly connected to The Club. They've been Jowetteering even before the Northern Section was formed back in 1962.
By the way, your car looks good on the photos in the Jowett gallery. I'll bet someone will shortly realise what a bargain it is.
Best wishes, Tony.

Well, thanks for the encouraging comments Tony; but I now have to report that the car was sold a couple of weeks ago. Today it was picked up from my home for the first leg of its journey to California. (I'm going to add a picture to my gallery to record the fact). The new owner is already a Jowett owner, so it is going to a good home!
The whole restoration exercise was, for me, a challenge which I think worked out pretty well. Another life experience! It was great to meet so many enthusiastic and knowledgeable Jowett people around the world, even if most meetings were only "virtual" ones.
I expect to take my website down shortly; but will post a notice here when I do.
