That style ammeter is fitted to late Javelin. Whether it is common to Jupiter I do not know.

Had these done through professional contacts for my racer build in 1990. The restoration costs of the face plates exceeded the costs of the mechanical restorations. Dry transfers were made and I did the work. The woman who owned the gauge shop scolded me that it would not last the year. 33 years on, gauges look new.

Though I now have a Bradford I have not given up on my Jupiter & have had the brake shoes relined & drums machined to fit. Tomorrow I hope to assemble the brakes & work out what is missing.

Many years ago to help stay alive I made sure my girlfriends bed springs were well oiled, this kept her angry gorilla of a Dad off my case. Now many years later I need to find a way to stop my brake shoe springs rusting, this time to stay alive I cant use oil. Any ideas? At the moment a I can think of is a light coat of paint.

The same thought might apply to the Bradford, you can just about lie down in the back. I suggest using a water repellant grease, probably calcium based.

For brake springs painting them the correct colour (yellow, green and black) is the best option.
For brakes use a high melting point grease made for brakes based on lithium.

Careful. I think that could give you a nasty rash.

I have had the fuel sender & final gauges rebuilt.
The more holes I plug in the tank the more I find.
I have bought a tank sealing kit, whuch I will use once all the known holes are repaired.

I have patched the holes in my fuel tank with solder, then sealed it with kbs tank sealer. I decided to clean the original filter, it was so corroded I have put it into my too hard box & bought a plastic inline strainer. Likewise the original fuel pump has been discarded in favour of a Kiwi made pump.
All parts from tank to carb are now in a box for the day they are required to bring the car back to museum condition.

We should be able to find a servicable original filter. Points and diaphragm should be available for pump. Speak to JCS.

I spent tiday sorting fuel system . tank does nit leak fimters & pumo all fine.
Problem is engine has seized! I put an endiscope down the bores and all look fine. I can still see the cross hatch pattern on the bore.
Radiator is full of water. Sump has the correct amount of clean oil.
Any suggestions? Can the distributor drive lock? I ask as I have made a Mini dizzie fit the Jowett drive.
