Neil Moore had driven his Jupiter down from Auckland to compete in the 25th MG Classic Motor Race Meeting at the Manfeild Park Motor Racing circuit this weekend. He stayed with Val and I, so I went along with him yesterday (Saturday 13 November) as honoury "pit crew". I even got to park the Princess in the pit area! The marshals at the entrance must have recognised the "quality old British machinery"
During the races he was competing in the commentators gave a pretty accurate potted history of Jowetts and the Jupiter in particular. We'd primed them with a bit of hard copy info.* beforehand, but there definitely were things included in what they said, that they must have had prior knowledge of . . .
* including the top priority stop press news of a Jupiter being judged as the best car in the "land of Eng"
Here's a image of him returning to the pit area after a good showing on the circuit.
