Interior trim Wanted

Post by Peter Holden »

Does anybody have any Beige Javelin trim for a 1950 PC standard Javelin that I can beg or borrow? I could do with a complete set in total including the boarded trim to the foot wells. Either give me a ring or Email me via Jowettalk

Equally is there a colour reference to the window trims anywhere, they are a sort of dark green but not as the external colour that I can make out.

I had the door cards for my 1950 De Luxe Javelin remade by a Jaguar Restoration company. They found that the cards were made in the same manner that the Jaguar Mk 1X were. Possibly by a sub contractor?

Hi Peter, the correct colour for the window metal surround is gold / beige. All the standard models
with your interior that I've seen have this matching colour for the window surround.
Yours must have been painted in a different colour sometime in it's past

Peter - I now have a spectrometer and can give you a formula / name for any colour - but I need a flat section of paint approx 75mm x 75mm to take the reading from if the dash is the same colour I should be able to take it from the glove box lid - let me know if I can help - if you want to return to the original paint I can take a reading from my car (standard) which still has some original paint and is a gold metallic

Peter, as you may know paint colour will alter after 60+ years, even inside panels to some extent.
Without the original paint-code I find a visual match is as good a method taking into account
the ageing process, you will get very close to the original.
The correct type & colour furflex is available, try Woolies-trim.co.uk

Pict to show Std model interior colour match.
