From Michael KO JCS.
450x19 tyres for a 1936 Jowett are £101 each + £12.50 each for inner tubes all plus postage and packing. I don't know what delivery would be to Germany but surely tyres of this size are available on the continent?

Since I know zero about 1936 Jowetts I am going to need some help here, so thought we would try doing this via the Internet and if that does not work I will take the parts to JCS or Bill Lock or some other knowledgable people!
I unpacked the box and numbered each packet. As you see from the photo some packets contained lots of items.

Marcel would like to source new if possible or at least a serviceable used part. So your challenge is to tell us what they are, how many are needed, are they available new, who from and how much.

1 -looks like shock absorber rubber with metal tube.
2- front bumper bolts with nuts 4x (Are the nuts domed and chromed?)
3.- prop shaft nuts bolts washers- need 8x (The heads of the bolts are different thicknesses. What is (are) the correct thickness.)
4- Door handles 4x
5- various nuts bolts and washers but there are two split cylinders that have a screw through them?
6- leaf spring nuts bolts. 6x (The heads of the bolts are different thicknesses. What is (are) the correct thickness.)
7-bonnet catch assembly 4x
8.- lock tab? 4x
9-castle nut 4x
10-Countersunk bolt (2BA?) 8x
11-winder 1x
12 yoke 1x
13- U bolt short with nuts 4x
14-U bolt long with nuts 4x
15- 1/4bsf? bolt with lock nuts 6x
16- ?? rubber with bolt and screw thread
17-water tap x2
18- rubber bump stop 2x
19 -??U bolt support 1x
20-metalastick bush short 6x
21-bolt 12x
22-metalastick bush long 6x
23- leaf spring nuts bolts (The heads of the bolts are different thicknesses. What is (are) the correct thickness.)
24- handbrake nuts and bolts 2x
25 radiator fixings washers, rubbers nuts bolts
26 very varied nuts bolts washers clamps and fixings
27 look like standard BSF nuts, bolts and washers
28 brake drums 4x

Your help will be much appreciated on identification and sourcing . Marcel is on a tight budget and I suspect that this little lot to purchase new will be too much for him.

In addition he sent me this wish list.

24.November 2013
Hello Keith Clemens and Jowett colleagues,
Thank you for taking the time to help me with the restoration of my Jowett. In the parcel, you will
find many screws as well as other parts from the car.
Please return all screws to me (both the new ones and the old ones). Please also return all the old
parts to me again. Please send me more new screws than necessary, so that I have a few to spare.
Apart from that, I also need:
1: A complete new set of brake pads for all four wheels. (Is there such a thing?)
2: 4 spark plugs
3: Rear shock absorbers (both sides)
4: Head gasket (engine)
5: Intake manifold gasket (one each end)
6: Air filter (in case it was used at the time)
7: Original Ignition coil! (I have one from a newer car.)
8: Gasket kit for front shock absorbers (both sides) ([s there such a thing?)
9: Original hand starter
Anything else could you recommend to make restoring a Jowett easier?
In case you need help in identifying parts, please write to me.If I make it to England in future, I look forward to going for a pint together. You and some of the Jowett club members are of course more than welcome to visit me in case you wanted to come to
Germany.
Kind Regards
Marcel

I'm working through the list.

Meanwhile Marcel, look at the following links:-

http://www.namrick.co.uk/acatalog/Home_ ... ts__1.html

http://www.namrick.co.uk/acatalog/Home_ ... lts_4.html

http://www.namrick.co.uk/acatalog/B.S.F._Nuts_New.html

I'm surprised at the cost these days, but it would be better to use new nuts and bolts rather than secondhand ones for a rebuild. There are also other suppliers on the internet.

Tony.

Hello,
It's nice to hear a progress from the car parts!

Keith:
On each packet, this is difficult to decipher, is wirting what is inside and the quantity i need.
My comment: see behind the arrow. the rest is decoded

1. Shock Absorber rubber  for the Gearbox (the metal tube can be used. not new!)
2. front bumper bolts with nuts 4x  (I don´t know if the nuts domed and chromed)
3. shaft nuts bolts. need 4x thick heads and 4x small heads (for the cardan shaft from the gearbox)
4. Door handles 4x
5. various nuts bolts and washers *but there are two split cylinders that have a screw through them?* do you mean the both Zylinders on the top right? they are clams on the brake leverage, they hold a spring
6. leaf spring nuts bolts. the right thicknesses from the heads of the bolts are the more thicker. (I trim them, if they are to thick)
7. bonnet catch assembly 4x
8. lock tab  the metal tab for the screws from the flat springs to Frame
9. castle nut 4x
10. countersunk bolt 8x
11. winder 1x
12. the pice, that bind the frame to the flat springs
13. U bolt short with nuts 4x
14. U bolt long with nuts 4x
15. bolt with lock nuts 6x  (1/4bsf?)
16. engine bearer
17. water tap x2
18. Gummi-Bump stop 2 x  arrestor for swept volume (back flat)
19. U bolt support 1x  yes, thats right!
20. metalastick bush 6x  the flat spring bearing to frame
21. bolt 12x
22. metalastick bush long 6x  the flat spring bearing to frame
23. leaf spring nuts bolts. the right thicknesses from the heads of the bolts are the more thicker. (I trim them, if they are to thick)
24. handbrake nuts and bolts 2x
25. radiator fixings washers, rubbers nuts bolts
26. very varied nuts bolts washers clamps and Fixings
27.standard BSF nuts, bolts and washers
28. Brake drum. one is enough! i can conform the inside diameter on the turning machine.

Hello Tony.

It's better to buy new and good quality screws even if the Price is higher! Probably, i restore only one Jowett in my live!
The screws and the spezial Jowett parts are important. If you don´t become the rest things, I must make self each things, for example No.: 1, 8, 18, 19; No.: 4 and 11 can I repair; if it gaves no brake drum, i have the alternative to inching on the turning machine.

Kind Regards
Marcel

Here is the response from our hard working guys in JCS. As can be seen there is still some work to do on identifying parts and some will have to be made. Since price is an issue we may need to re use some nuts and bolts and see if we can mend the door handles unless you can afford the ones from Vintage Supplies.

My next approach is to Bill Lock whom I will see in January. He should have many of the things you want but we will need to sort.
