The lower section of rust perforated chassis brace was repaired prior to the tacking in of a new outer chassis rail section

Just because you have what looks like good metal on the top - will not guarantee good metal on the reverse side

Small section of the new outrigger requires work to reduce the size where it mounts to the chassis rail / box section

Lots of rust and thin metal removed and a little more still to be chopped out before the rebuilding can commence

Managed to find a spare afternoon to continue the progress - I needed a reference point to get the sill alignment correct - but this means yet more cutting back of what looks like sound metal on one surface

Lots of cutting later in order to access rust prone / poor repair areas - and some new metal could start to go back in

Lower leading edge section of A post made up and welded in, the front outrigger had to be trimmed and re-welded to ensure a close fit with the chassis - once I was happy with the fit I tacked the outrigger on - careful measurements were made to ensure that new sections were positioned correctly

The sill could now be trial fitted

With a little trimming a good fit was achieved

First I needed to secure / complete the A post repair to the sill

Next will be the B post / sill repairs - once these are complete I can start to make the adjustments to the panel gaps but as this requires a certain amount of force I need to have some support in the B post / sill area
