Re: 1924 Short Two newbie is still lost a bit...
This is your car, before restoration, in approx 2004 I guess. Bought from Peter Rosoman. Very little if anything was missing. The dash panel was a new plank of wood, but with holes cut ready. At least I think it was new, really not sure. I sold the car to Peter Rogers, and then helped him sell it to...

Beaded edge wheels
I would like to find a pair of beaded edge vintage wheels.
I am happy to swap a pair of good standard, well-based wheels if required. Otherwise happy to buy.
Serviceable/repairable condition if possible.
thankyou,
James

Re: Pre War Pistons
Trying to follow you here.... So you want to run 2 compression and 2 oil control, like the original 8hp instead of the 3 compression? but not enough room to wider a compression groove into an oil control? 1st choice find a narrow oil control - modern ones are narrower than old Jowett. 2nd choice - f...

Switch panel wanted
We are seeking a switch panel for an early car. 1927 to 29 ish. Its a for a Sports Model which my son Harry and I are building. Bit late for a Brolt but we would consider, or What have you?
Thankyou, James@tiptopengineering.co.uk
Lots of bits for exchange if required.

Re: wanted -exhaust flange stub
Sorry chaps I clearly dont check this enough. Those centres are a little wide for my early barrels. I think if I file the holes close to each other I may give myself a problem passing the nut hex past, even with the nut extensions. I am going to just fabricate my own and get Tony Law (Leeds, exhaust...

Re: Pre war differential casings
I agree I wouldnt mix them.
The hardy spicer acts like a carden shaft. What one end does badly, the other does in opposite to make it OK again. So ideally work as a pair.
Of course a CV joint is what we all really need.....

Re: Pre war differential casings
I dont think it matters which end of the prop has the splines. They take up the change in length and transmit drive in just the same way which ever way round they are mounted. Yes there are 4 holes and 2 ways to mount the ends, cant go wrong. But if you disassemble the spline part, make sure you reb...

Re: Vintage Jowett radiator script badge.
I have a spare early vintage script badge. Its an original solid Nickel one. Bigger than the photo above I would say. If anyone is stuck i am happy to sell. I dont look on here often enough. James@TiptopEngineering.co.uk

Re: Pre war differential casings
The usual rubber coupling has been replaced by a solid disc, but that disc is an adaptor for a Hardy Spicer propshaft, fully flexible, I think. It would be interesting to know if all the teeth are in place, since a stray tooth getting jammed in, would be my first guess of the cause of failure. Jolly...
