Driving a 1924 Short Two. Now building his own.
Do you think 9 years old is a bit young? Well, I couldn't think of a better way to commission the new restoration.
Daddy helped release the clutch then he was away. My seat cushion was behind his back so that he could reach the pedals.
It's not wrong is it?

Fantastic! My eldest keeps checking to see if she can reach the pedals and I'm thinking next year we could be ready.

Don't put off till tomorrow (next year) what you can do today. Just find a big field.
I bet you will find that she and you both need your ears moving. (Smile so wide it won't fit between)
I can offer under age driving experiences if anyone needs it. Modern or vintage, your car or mine, I teach or you teach.
I have taught 25 people to date, all under 17 years old. 9 is the youngest but that pushing it a bit. You need a little go-kart experience first when so young. Go-kart also available.

No commercial interest . . .
Admiral Insurance run driving lessons for youngsters at various sites across the country.
My granddaughter aged 11 recently went to one in Cardiff and had a great time.
Now she points out every error(?) I make when we go out.
There's always a catch . . .

That's great to see! I try to keep mine involved with the car and hopefully the oldest will be able to drive it on the road in 3 and a bit years.
I'm interested to see the gear drive to the cam. Is this your own invention?
Barry

Gear Drive?
Does that not mean that the camshaft rotates in the opposite direction to if it was chain driven?
Was this the normal set-up on later (say post 1930) cars? If so, are the camshafts different?
We need to know!

That's interesting. So the Vintage engines were gear drive and then the 30's went to chain?
