Jowetts on the telly.

Post by TedAllen »

At 7.30 on our local Granada channel on Thursdays there is currently an archive programme called 'The way we were'.
Last night showed film of Market Weighton country fair in the early 50s.
A Bradford van came on and drove across the site. I think it was signwritten.
The next report was from a local Yorkshire 'off-course' horse race and there was a burgundy Javelin parked at the roadside as some horses walked past.....both shots were only a couple of seconds so I couldn't identify them with reg.numbers.
If anyone recorded it maybe a freeze-frame might do it.
Two Jowetts in one programme....what good value !

Also a recent 'Miss Marple' episode I am told showed a Javelin.

Anyone with more details?

TopGear 1990 (TG not as we know it now)
Episode 8 (I think) has Jupiter FPR474 being driven by Trevor Spero in a rally.

And I might add your honorable forumadmin in the hot seat. Mr Spero managed to spin the car in front of a camera almost wiping the camera out. Plenty of stones were seen flying towards it. The road was narrower than the car was long so we picked up grass on all four corners. We ended up facing oncoming rally cars so had to turn around quickly as there were only 30 secs between cars.

Fetching red flying hats worn by Keith with Drummond trying to tell me where to go. This was Bodrik in Belgium I think.
