Pistons and Manuals

Post by Forumadmin »

Whilst I do not own a Jowett myself, my father did - and regoing through some old documentation, etc of his, I find some parts and documentation that belonged to his old Javelin (I think he had) between 1940-1950.

There are two pistons for the engine (I presume that they are for the engine - I will attempt to take photos of them should you wish to see them), as well as a "decarbonising set" for a "Jowett 4G to 8G, G, 8-10 cwt van, 1929-40".

There are also a couple of manuals..

"The Jowett Light Car Instruction Book" - complete with fold out diagrams in the rear of the book.
Condition: Good: Top right corner tip of front cover bent back, and so are a couple of the first few pages.

And..

"Illustrated Price List of Jowett - 1938 - HP Private Car Spares and Replacement". Also contains a stuck in label attached to the front page stating that "an addition of 12.5% to the retail prices will operate from the 22nd March, 1937 - J.C Ltd".
Condition: Fair. Edges and some of the pages have been flicked over by oily hands; but the booklet is quite readable.

I know for a fact, for over 30 years - these items have remained in plastic bags and/or coverings in order to protect them - and have lain undisturbed for the past 15 years in a dry, cool place of mine.

Have you any idea where I may sell these items, or what price I may receive for them? They've been so long together - that I am unwilling to split them and would only sell them as a whole lot.

Regards,

Dave Thompson
