Just a short note to get the ball rolling.
Of course, we can start with the usual car related issues getting to the rally. The usual overheating and rain problems were experienced, but not much else caused the tool tray to be used on the Allfrey Javelin driven by Keith and Bill Lock. The car performed well in the driving tests being beaten by a spirited drive of a Jupiter driven by Rath junior much to the chagrin of Rath senior.
Much was discussed about overheating, especially with John Walker who has some novel ideas that successfully cure the problem. Watch this space!

Return From Armidale
Both Allfrey Jowetts returned home safely and reliably. Jupiter held 70 mph on four mile straight without over heating!
Was great to have positive comment about my cars from north.
Managed 100 kilometres from Naranderra to Jerilderie in less than one hour, despite being held up by slower trucks and a red Nissan Something.
David Grounds is off to Tasmania tomorrow for some good touring, and will miss driving a potent well-sorted Javelin. It was just like going to Spain on holiday in 1949 and 1951 in Javelins. The trip from Armidale is only 100 miles shorter than Sutton Coldfield to Bilbao (Spain).
All the best,
Mike and David.
PS. Thankyou Ray for use of the gold Javelin on Sunday afternoon.
