Hi folks, The crawler is mine she looks a bit sorry for herself at the mo but we'll be getting it into the workshop shortly for some more restoration work.
The Jowett engine that's fitted was siezed when we got it a few years ago. We managed to free it off but the right hand cylinder had pitted badly due to being full of water, so the engine was duly rebored to +20 new pistons were obtained from F W Thornton and fitted, we also refaced the valve seats and obtained and fitted a recon wico magneto. We had to retro fit a modern oil filter as the original is a paper element type fitted in a sealed metal housing and was blocked solid. I would however be very interested in obtaining a proper filter if anyone know of a supplier?.
After this work was complete she started quite easily, but it still needs some more work to get it running perfectly. I have no radiator at present so it's only ever run for a couple of minutes at a time with the water jacket full. Thanks for your interest and I promise to remove the cobwebs
Regards Gary
