Calling Chris Spencer

Post by David Kemp »

Chris on YouTube is a video of a Jupiter with aluminium push rod covers & breather hose attached.
Where do the tubes go to? PCV?
Is the arrangement better than the Jowett system?
Good memories of Bradfords.

Most race cars have this system to provide venting of the crankcase. The tubes go to a catch tank usually. At high revs this is necessary.

I also fitted air filters to the intake to the system for the desert rallies.

Some race cars also block the balance pipe and pintel valve crankcase breathing system so the breathing is done via the catch tank.
