Hi All,
I was sorting out some Jowett-related paperwork and the attached note about the Farina Jupiters came to light. This took me back to around 1966...Imagine a youthful me in those days, Just about to move from Kent to Bath, a new job there and a first baby on the way! Up pops an advert for a Jowett Jupiter ( I already had a Javelin ) for sale in Chatham for £85. Obviously, I had to go and see it!
Now, memory does odd things to you, but when I saw this Jupiter in the front garden of this house, it was unlike any Jupiter I had ever seen! It was in black and just like the one shown below. Could I juggle the finances? I sat in the car, which was in good condition and the fixed head coupe looked so inviting. But where would I put the pram? Could I afford to seel the Javelin and buy this one? What would be the advice ( or decision ) from the boss? Very reluctantly, I had to drive away and I have regretted it ever since!
Any recollections on these fantastic cars would be most welcome. To me, they look absolutely beautiful and the best Jupiters by far, but then I am biassed!
All the best,
David

Re: Farina Jupiters
If there were no major mechanical issues that would have been a good buy. But I do not think I would buy a fixed head, even for this country. A soft top for me.
Yes the Farina is the most stylish of the special bodies.
I have sat in three of those Farinas.
