WANTED: glove box lock

Post by AmilcarJohn »

Can anyone help me out with a glove box lock for my Jupiter? It is the chrome cylindrical-shaped one, I am not sure if this is also common to some Javelins. I actually have the chrome part and the lock barrel but need the keeper and spring mechanism, so an incomplete one might do. JCS could not help.

Thanks

John

It is fitted to some Javelin Deluxe models but not all - It was rarely the chrome version though most of the chrome neck type found on the Jupiters were painted black on the Javelins

New from Moss Motors with two keys. A bit pricey at US$190.
Part number 633-740
Application BJ8

So old BJ8 as well and perhaps a Healey chat group might be in your future. Innards are the same on a Nash Metropolitan.

I'm guessing your keeper is what I call the striker. I can check the Nash parts two doors down on Monday as I don't think I have ever seen the internals offered for sale anywhere.

Thanks Chris and Steve. Very helpful information. In fact, I have now managed to buy a black-painted version, which I can combine with the bits I have to work for the Jupiter. Fingers crossed it is all in order when it arrives in the post.
