Bentley Drivers, Silverstone

Post by Keith Clements »

Harry Naerger took his Jup for the Fiscar race on Saturday. The race started after a downpour with Chris Bates using the extra green flag lap to test the grip on the corners whilst others pussyfooted around. Consequently he gained ten places on the first lap and held that advantage until pulling into the pits to investigate a misfire. Harry went out after a quick dry of the ignition but did not report any more power issues.

A 5 minute video of the event.

Make sure you have the sound on.
It has some pictures in it with no sound. Please do not complain about the edit, it was the first time I have used this new software!

Recorded in Full HD (4k) (1920× 1080) on Samsung S22 Ultra but had to be downsampled to HD for the editing and upload. I will have to sort out editing in 4K.

Also available on Youtube Not yet checked if quality is worse than clipchamp upload or what service agreement I have with either! May upload to Jowett website video library!

The youtube version is considerably worse than the clipchamp version.

Thanks for posting. How does the Jup handles in the wet? Great to hear the flat four in full flow.

I always liked racing in the wet as the Jup's handling seemed better than all the other competitors, mainly because they all had more power and could not get it down on the road. The Jup is also forgiving and does not break away quickly and when it does it tends to understeer. But hey, it really depends on the driver and what confidence they have with the car.
Chris Bates wisely used the extra green flag laps to gain that confidence.
