On 28 September the Cedar Court Hotel Group advised us that they could not guarantee that the Wakefield hotel would be ready for our event in May.
They advised us that our booking would be transferred to their Huddersfield hotel.
The rally committee have met with their senior management and after reviewing options, have decided to accept that offer. One of the downsides of the Huddersfield hotel is that it is smaller than the Wakefield one (113 rooms as opposed to our projection of 125 at Wakefield) so the Cedar Court Group have reserved 12 rooms at an overflow hotel (for Bed and Breakfast) and will provide free transport between the hotels.
As you can imagine this has caused the rally committee very great consternation and it means that we are currently rethinking the whole weekend. We are actively seeking an alternative to Nostell Priory for the concours day, and looking at how much of our previous
plan is still feasible.
All bookings currently received are valid, but should you wish to cancel your booking we will understand. If you wish to attend the rally please can you return the booking form, supplied with the October Jowetteer, in a timely manner as places in the Huddersfield
hotel will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The postcode for the Huddersfield hotel is HD3 3RH. The hotel stands at Junction 24 of the M62. In subsequent bulletins we will tell you how to get there without using the motorway and update you on our revised plans for the weekend, once these are known

This year’s rally is over the late May Bank Holiday weekend. The rally hotel is the Cedar Court at Ainley Top, Huddersfield. The concours day is Saturday and will be held in Greenhead Park Huddersfield.

My last national was Cannon Hall 2010. I was on the organising committee and was chief field Marshall on the day. After a long absence I am entered for this year and looking forward to enjoying a more relaxing event!

Is the number of people who write to their club magazine every month indicative of the number who read it?

Hi all,

Just a question? There was some early discussion in this thread about whether everyone coming to the Rally would be able to be accomodated within the Rally hotel? An overflow hotel was being mentioned.

Is there still a possibility that some folks may have to be accomodated at a different hotel?

All the best,

David

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your email. That's good news, as it's much better to have everyone under one roof.

Best regards,

David
