Re: Restoration Show 2023
The Jowett Car Club return to the Restoration Show in 2023 with their most active & ambitious stand to date upon which a very diverse range of projects will receive live restoration work. A barn found 1927 Jowett Long 4 Tourer shall be brought back to life after being found stood unused for over 30 years the team hope to have the engine & drivetrain back in running condition by the Sunday of the show.
The club also have much to celebrate this year, not only holding the title of the worlds oldest one make car club but also in celebrating their centenary year. Join in the celebrations whilst marvelling at the team’s activities on some of the rarest cars in the show – Hall 5 stand 170
Another vehicle which up until very recently had laid dormant is a 1952 Jowett Javelin – finished in one of the much rarer factory colours of ‘Golden Sand Metallic’ – This particular car was last on the road in 1964 when its water pump failed and has been garage stored ever since – the team have an extensive list to work through in order to return the car to a roadworthy condition including a new clutch, ignition components, fully refurbished braking system, water pump & coolant system – again the team are planning to have the engine in a running condition by the Sunday afternoon of the show.
A 1952 Jowett Bradford Utility also marks its presence on the stand with its restored chassis & drive train – works to complete the panels and fit them to the new ash frame will be undertaken throughout the show - this will include panel repairs / fabrication / welding & panel beating.
A stunning recently fully restored Jowett Jupiter from 1953 will complement live works on the stand. The club also have much to celebrate this year, not only holding the title of the worlds oldest one make car club but also in celebrating their centenary year. Join in the celebrations whilst marvelling at the team’s activities on some of the rarest cars in the show – Hall 5 stand 170

Re: Restoration Show 2023
I was not able to be present at the 2023 NEC Restoration Show this year, but seeing what K.C. has published in this thread is evidence of how the planning and the execution of it has paid dividends for the Club in our Centenary year.
Congratulations to Chris Spencer and his team of willing workers. It was good to see some of the members in the photos posted here, even if one of them was unrecognisable whilst under a Javelin with his legs sticking out.
No doubt there will be more of the same in subsequent editions of our magazine, the Jowetteer, if not in this post.
Tony.

Re: Restoration Show 2023
Th pre-war finally started after it was discovered the rotor arm had the direction of rotation arrow on it was in the wrong direction. So once ignored the timing was set correctly.
