The first car I owned was Javelin bought in Toronto In 1956. I enjoyed that car, but it had an unfortunate habit of the transmission not going into gear at unfortunate times like in Toronto traffic. I solved the problem but taking off the access cover and I could reach down and free the linkage. The the head gasket leaked and antifreeze got into the oil and seized the valve lifters. I took the engine apart and cleaned it out, but I never got it running successfully. A friend took it over but I don’t he ever got it running satisfactorily. I gave up and bought a new Ford. I have always had a sentimental affection for my Javelin.
