Non symmetry

Post by Keith Clements »

We are building up a Jupiter chassis from a load of bits.
I have just discovered that we have two left hand front suspension mounting points.
†1055 Upper Link Bracket – LHS J54449
*1056 Upper Link Bracket – RHS J54448

I am trying to work out if drilling a new set of holes in the chassis face plate to move this wrong sided unit to line the pivot point up with the lower arm pivot point would cause any issues.
This is how it should be.

This is a left hand unit fitted to the right side.

And the back mis aligned.

Confusion reigns. The right hand bracket has LH cast into it and the left hand bracket has RH. Paul Murray spent the day helping and he decided that redrilling the holes might make a slot so I searched for a spare bracket and found one that needed welding. This was repaired and fitted. Now we need the torsion bar finger, nut and bush.
