Jupiters from the past!

Post by Srenner »

At a race meeting this past weekend I got word of a Jupiter in Mexico. This is the one that ran the Carrera Panamericana circa 1990 with an aircooled Volkswagen motor. Still owned by the same dentist who drove it in that event, evidently it has been sitting in his storage since that time. I found parts of the motor to this one in 1989 in a junkyard outside a seaside resort in Baja. What a small, strange world.

My new friend had been trying to purchase a Packard from the dentist and got the whole story of the Jupiter in the process. I hope to get some pictures in the next month or so. In theory, it is for sale. The owner appears to be a little eccentric, so we shall see.

Also, Jupiter 715, which has been stored since 1994 in northern California, is up for sale. I had it from 1990 until 1994 and prior to that it sat beside a house in southern California from the early '60's until I picked it up. I'm willing to say that it is probably a low mileage car! Send me a note for more details. Jowettpartsusa@yahoo.com
