So as to be clear I have rearranged the shoes so that Front is at the top, Nearside is on the left, and Upper and Lower are in their respective positions for each pair of shoes. I have also marked slave cylinder ends and the end of the lining. I assemble the rear pairs with springs and lever them into position.

Hi All,
Just a thought. If any of you are fitting new rear brake shoes to a Javelin or Jupiter and encounter the situation where the new shoes seem too big, this might help? Especially if you have stripped the backplate down and reconditioned everything.
I have found it is possible to get the sliding pistons inserted into the cam adjuster the wrong way round! They look absolutely correct, but actually will stick out too far. This results in much frustration, with having to try and get the drum over the new shoes and they just will not fit. If this is the case, STOP! Take the shoes off again and try reversing the pistons. This caused me a lot of head scratching and evil thoughts that I might have been supplied with the wrong shoes!
