Bonnet repair
I have just spent the last few days removing what was left of the paint on the bonnet,the whole panel was covered in corrosion,this has now been removed I am now left with a lot of pits in the panels ,could I please have people's thoughts on how to deal with this ,there are a few splits and holes that I shall be letting metal into these at the same time ,thank you in advance
have just purchased a javilin and will need all the help i can get

Nigel - Removal of has much of the rust out of the pits as possible - you can either send the panels for shot blasting or the harder way is to use a rotatory wire brush on a drill - be careful as this procedure will generate heat which could further distort the panels - once completed clean the panels with panel wipe then apply 2 coats of Bilt Hambers Hydrate 80 - once cured you can fill the pits & prepare for paint as normal - link below to Bilt Hambers site - I use this procedure throughout my restorations without issues or problems at a later date
