Re: Jowett Rally 2021 Preston
I've just had an email from our Club Secretary to say that the National Rally at Preston Lancashire has been cancelled.
This is following on from The Prime Minister's statement of yesterday.
Tony.

Very understandable. Better to be safe, than sorry. Where is the Rally for 2022?

Re: Jowett Rally 2021 Preston
I think we need to see how many variables progress and organise something closer to the date if possible.
We are hoping the Revival in September and the rescheduled Members meeting in October take place.
But before that we need to see how successful relaxation of lockdown in the UK combined with the vaccination program, which will not complete before August, increases cases.
Perhaps in June we may start some outdoor section meetings, and perhaps hotels and restaurants will still be open then, so there is the possibility of a small gathering with overnight stays.
I doubt if borders will be completely open then so you have the likelihood of 14 days quarantine before and after any event here.
Add to that more mutant strains occuring and the effort in planning and risk is not worth it.
We need to move very carefully out of lockdown, but still enjoy our Jowetts as much as we feel comfortable with.

I was wondering the same as Alan. Has the rally venue for 2022 been published?

Re: Jowett Rally 2021 Preston
The club Executive in 2019 were looking at a couple of venues for 2021 having set their sights on Preston for 2020. I guess that 2022 will probably be Preston and the the big one in 2023 should be Bradford or Harrogate or thereabouts.
I will see if the Southern Section can put something together if the opportunity arises to extend a visit to Goodwood. Camping would not be a problem organizing but hotels are usually full.

Currently the border is not open even if you have been vaccinated or have been tested prior to entry. Things will change . That is my understanding.
