The coil on my Javelin is old am thinking of fitting a new one is there a better coil than the original.
Have also noticed some play in the distributor top bush can this bush be changed or get a reconditioned distributor . I have seen articles where people have fitted electronic distributors how are these fitted.
Thanks Barry.

Re: Coil
Try a JT search for +electronic +ignition +distributor
Plenty about the different types fitted to Jav and Jups.
You should have less trouble if you get a reconditioned points one from Distributor Doctor. Ask for Keith Clements' advance curve which is suitable for modern petrol.
Just make sure your coil is fitted the correct way around for the type of earthing system you have.( Pencil test). The coil type depends on which system you choose.
