Jowett 8 Car for auction
We are a local firm of auctioneers based in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire area and are
dealing with the estate of the late John Priest who owned a Jowett 8 motorcar registration HHK277
which was registered in 1939.
The vehicle was running although the fan is disconnected mileage we gather is approximately 59560.
We are instructed by the executors to offer th is car for sale by pubic auction at our saleroom at
Lynden House, New Mills Road, Ledbury, HR8 2DJ in our general sale on 6th October 2020
commencing at 10 a.m.
We also have a second lot which includes a rolling chassis believed to also be of a Jowett 8 body
parts and engine parts all of which could be a very interesting source of spares for your society and
members. The chassis have a registration plate GUH605 and a separate chassis plate for a Jowett
E2 CC39514 all of which are included in the separate lot of spares.
We were wondering if this could be publicised through the Jowett Car Club.
The sale will be by public auction vehicles will be available to view prior to sale and bidding can be
accessed via easyliveauctions.com.
Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Re: Jowett 8 Car for auction
Firstly it's disappointing when the club offered it's services in writing to the estate in order to help identify the vehicles / parts that the estate retains and it gets ignored - the auctioneer is clueless in the listings of what's on offer - i.e. stating that fan on the 8 is disconnected etc - obviously has never seen a vehicle with with a thermo syphon cooling system - the chassis is not a 8 either its a Bradford with a dissembled body - I viewed everything in December 2019 when I collected a vehicle from the late owners address and I don't believe that anything has changed since that visit

Re: Jowett 8 Car for auction
I spoke to the auction house and the guy seems a bit frustrated but his situation - I think he would be asking for club help if he could.
The Jowett 8 looks the part though and the new pictures on the Car and Classic web site make it look a good prospect for an oily rag type of approach.
