Agree with Chris price seems steep , apart from the parts that are known to be missing there is bound to be other bits as well .It appears to be a company that deals with importing cars from America that has it up for sale
have just purchased a javilin and will need all the help i can get

It is interesting that it is advertised as left hand drive when the instrument panel is on the right hand side

May be …….Its right hand drive and the description is wrong

It was RHD when shipped in 1951, and I believe still is.
IT WAS RHD WHEN LAST ADVERTISED IN 2016 USING THE SAME PICTURES...

Ha!
Both actually Scott. I recall the yellow primer when it was for sale out of Maine.
But I checked against my pictures.

You are right this is 258. Rather incomplete.

Regards,
Andy

Did you ever find the ID of the ebay car out of Louiseville Kentucky Scott? Listed in April if you recall.

Andy and Scott, and others,

I bought the Jupiter listed on eBay in Louisville, Ky in May, and I have it in Michigan now... E2 SAL 862 R (body #652)

It is in pretty rough shape, but mostly complete. It is missing the starter motor, flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc, as well as the throw-out bearing and linkage. The engine is still frozen but is getting plenty of penetrating oil until it can be further inspected. The entire seat is missing, as well as a couple of the small gauges, but the speedo and tach appear to be restorable.

Scott, I am going on a road trip to California this winter and plan to visit you, and shop for parts. I'll send you a list of things I will be looking for.

I also have the Jupiter body and chassis that was on eBay a year ago in New York. I don't know the serial number of that one; the ID tag is missing from the bulkhead. I wonder if it is stamped anywhere else on the body or frame. The chassis was cut off just forward of the point where the main frame tube narrows and a Volkswagen front suspension was welded on in place, so the crossmember tube is missing. Is there any other place I might find the VIN? The body number stamped on both doors is 551.

Regards,
Jeff Barney

Hey Jeff,

Yes, I goofed when I didn't connect you to the question of the KY car.

No plate, no front tube...no number for the car unless the motor was also there. No motor.....

Body number stamped on all the panels. If the door cards are off, the steel is stamped below the window crank.

Just went through starters and will have one for you when needed, in addition to the other parts we discussed.

BUT>>>>>good timing on the message. A junk Javelin has turned up in Logansport, IN. No solid info yet, but hope to get pictures and better idea of condition. I suspect it will be rather sorry, but since many of the mechanicals are the same as a Jupiter, I have fingers crossed that it is largely complete.

Interesting news about the Javelin in Logansport. That's not too far away from me, about a 3 hour drive. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Hi Jeff,

Re: Ebay purchase with cut chassis:

I've sent you email and PMs... but it seems likely they don't work or are sent to Junk.

I know the ID of your second car that you bought out of New York.
If you want to progress on this topic it would be best if you get in touch by email.
