I have been thinking that the way we communicate changes. In the 20s and 30s Jowett enthusiasts arranged by word of mouth to meet in a pub or field and then chatted.
The meets may have been advertised in a newsletter such as the Jowetteer posted out by some organisers and a club was formed.
As more people obtained telephones in the 40s and 50s members could organise themselves using that medium as well, but that required some quite complex navigation of switchboards prior to answer phones and subscriber trunk dialling in the 60s and 70s. But Members coped with that technology change.
Jowett Club communication continued like that until the 90s when people started using email and the Internet. There was slow uptake by the ageing members of this technology so that even after 20 years many had not realised the value of the medium for building a Jowett community. Most members (but not all) like a face to face chat or a natter on the telephone or even sharing their Jowett experience through the pages of the magazine. This is what being in the club means to them.
The recent lock down has shown that 21st century technology has great value providing face to face chats between groups, on line dialogues on forums, on demand viewing of videos or shopping for things on line.
A few members were motivated to try and learn this new technology and were rewarded by making new friends, keeping socially up to date and being entertained by reading and watching the archived material.
It is a shame that more did not. Perhaps it was a challenge to learn new stuff, but with a bit of effort and patience and some help from friends, or some research, anybody can acheive such enjoyment.
Spread the word and help others find this new world, particularly here on the Jowett website where the forum not only melds a worldwide community but archives our valuable knowledge, and where the Member Services give you up to date member and vehicle information as well as hours of video to watch.

Colour blindness and big fingers and poor mouse control
A couple of users said they had problems using the member services pages so I have made some changes that hopefully help them.
The pallette of colours was chosen to accomodate colour blindness and the buttons and URL links have been made clearer and bigger so they are easier to click on a phone or screen with a mouse.
Comments of course are welcome.
If you are interested this topic shows how the colours will apppear with certain types of blindness.
