ZO2222
Hello just thought I'd say hello, I'll be a new club member once processed. I attach a picture of my javelin, it was assembled in Ireland by w. Ryan ltd Dublin, it was best known for its appearance in ballykissangel as fr clifford's car. I bought it last summer in Yorkshire of all places, luckily I managed to retain its original number. ZO 2222. Its running well, but wanders some times, so starting with new tyres and will see if its something else, there is a bit of play in the steering maybe 1 to 2 inches (I think) anyway looking forward to enjoying and maintaining it and chatting to like minded enthusiasts. Donal

Re: ZO2222
Hello all, I just brought ZO out for a quick run, but didn't go very well, it ran quite lumpy, and only on full choke, if you push in the choke, it'll cut out in seconds, I removed the two bowls and all jets seem clear, Anyone any idea what to look at? Thanks Donal

Re: ZO2222
As suggested by Nick, probably air leak around base of carb. Use a couple of feet of plastic hose to listen for sucking noises when the engine is running. But could be many other reasons. Could also be seal around top of carb float chamber, worn throttle spindle, idle speed adjustment ( the choke increases throttle). If you are really unlucky it could be the balance pipe leaking either inside the crankcase or just under the oil filter, or pintle valve not closing.
