It is with great pleasure that I write to invite you to take part in the Goodwood Revival Transport Corps over the weekend of 13th – 15th September 2019. The valued assistance of enthusiasts such as yourself is fundamental to the authentic atmosphere that Goodwood strives so hard to achieve, and without your ongoing help it would be impossible to service the event in an appropriate manner. We are extremely grateful for your support.
Please find enclosed an Essential Information document, which contains all the information you need for the weekend. Also enclosed is a simple contract, which should be completed and returned by 28th February 2019 if you wish to participate. When returning your documents, please remember that our public liability insurance requires you to provide a copy of your driving licence prior to the Revival to ensure that your vehicle is covered.
As outlined in the Essential Information, GRTC volunteers will need to be on-site on Thursday 12th September between 17:30hrs and 19:00hrs to sign on - the location will be confirmed in the letter you receive in your ticketing pack. At sign-on you will be given a briefing, highlighting key points and updating you to any changes to the event and an opportunity to ask any final questions before the event goes live.
Please note: if, having submitted your contract, it becomes apparent that you cannot attend the event, please let us know as soon as possible, in order that we can arrange a suitable replacement.
We very much look forward to seeing you at the event. Thank you once again for your valued support of the Goodwood Revival.
Yours sincerely,
The GRTC Team. 01243 755051 grtc@goodwood.com

The Javelin has been invited to compete in the St Mary’s Trophy at this year's Goodwood Revival. I don’t know yet which professional driver celebrity I’ll be teamed up with yet but, if you could spread the word any support from interested club members is always appreciated.

Looks like Julian is teamed up with Christian Horner the team Principal at Red Bull F1, it’ll be interesting to see what he makes of the Jowett

Well being as Mr Horner has already ridden in one, he should already be pretty impressed with a Jowett

Hi Keith,
Good to catch up with you and the other Jowett enthusiasts at Goodwood this year. Just in case you didn’t get the final results for the weekend, we managed to finish 9th overall from a grid of 30 cars with the aggregate of the two races, which is far better than I could have ever hoped for given we had the lowest power output on the grid and the oldest car.
Christian Horner really enjoyed driving it and was very complimentary after practice commenting “its so predictable and well balanced, there’s no-one quicker on the corners just need 20 hp more on the straight”
I see in this month’s Joweteer somebody is writing a Jowetts at Goodwood report so if you would be kind enough to pass this snip it onto the author I’m sure it would be a worthwhile inclusion. Its now my intention to build another engine in search of that elusive 20 hp, so if you now of anybody selling a good pair of blocks let me know. I would really like to get hold of the patterns the club made and see if we could get something going with them. My company has a lot of experience with aluminium castings and machining.
If you think the Goodwood author would like any more info about the race or wants to access the results available on the TSL timing website, please let me know.
The Javelin will be in action again tomorrow in the HRDC Touring Greats race at the Castle Coombe Autumn Classic.
Thanks again for your support.
Regards
Julian
