Well done! I couldn't bear to see them go to scrap!
Perhaps we should organise a 'parts collection' service whereby a local member can collect your ebay (or other) purchase and either deliver the parts to a closer location or hold on to them until you can arrange collection or a meet-up at an event. Obviously more suitable for smaller items...

This has been done a few times in the past. In some cases with a 2 ton truck to collect a barn full!
