Tyres

Post by Jack »

JCS seem to be doing tyres again, so always worth a call to see if they can do what you want, certainly worth talking to them for smaller quantities.

But it seems to be a choice between Longstone or Vintage Tyres - for Michelin (X) Longstone are the guys to talk to, for Avon (Tourist or Turbosteel) talk to Vintage. I think because of some deal they have with them their prices are better for each respectively. No idea which are better for the Waymaster which seems to be a common choice for crossply, but both can supply all of above.

My advice would be to call and discuss requirements, their advice when I dealt with both last year was very good and they were straight talking guys who were happy to help, for 4 or more tyres it is worth a call to see if they will do a deal.

Waymaster Crossplys - Don't bother - bought a set 5 years ago - done 5,000 miles on them - tread is fine but the sidewalls on two of them are now perishing / cracking quite badly so they will be getting changed for a set of Avon's before the car's next journey out
