I went back to my local motor spares shop to get some replacement mountings that they previously had supplied for my overdrive . They were not in stock and worse, even after two days of pouring over old catalogues and ordering what they thought would fit (and did not), no part suitable could be found. I even tried three other local motor spares shops. I then spent less than three minutes searching on the Internet, 30 seconds buying and paying for four of the thimble mounts which were listed as being for marine engines. That was at 11:30 Friday morning, they arrived in the post 9:30 Monday morning all the way from Hong Kong.
So now I have spares in stock as well. Price was £9 for four and postage was free. These were easily a quarter of the price of their closest shop rival.
