Restoring upholstery
Hi just bought a javelin and the upholstery is a bit tatty can anyone recommend a restorer or would you recover them please and also anyone who does good rechroming as the side strips are pitted probably going to be on here for advice quite a bit as this is all new to us thanks in advance

From 1966 to '67 Black deLuxe Javelin LDF 738 (Scrapped with broken chassis)
From 1967 to '87 Black de Luxe Javelin MKC 1 (later 6469TU). (Sold as non-runner with tons of spares, 1987)
From about 1980 to '87 ex WD Jowett stationary engine. (Sold on)
From 1966 to present, 1930 Long Four Fabric Saloon, Dark Blue / Black.
Taken in a part-repaired state to the 2010 Centenary Rally, returned to a roadworthy state by 2013. - Given Name: Ian

Just to let you know that your message has been seen - at least by me!
It might help if you could give us an idea of your location. I have just had all the seats in my1930 long four reupholstered but this has happened in Hastings, which may not be a help to you!
There have been a number of posts on this subject over the years so try the 'search' facility to see if there any useful leads.
I am sure you will get more responses soon.

I'm sorry I didn't see your original post. I usually reply to all new Forum members, even though my main interest, as is Ian's, is the pre-war section.
There are over 500 members of our Club, but quite a number of them do not visit 'JowettTalk' very often, if at all.
I always suggest that anyone having bought a Jowett, of whatever vintage, should join the Jowett Car Club so that the link to various benefits, especially our Spares Department will be of use in the future.
Perhaps you have already done this and have stated your U.K. Club Section preference. There are nine U.K. regions covered. This should put you in touch with local Jowett owners.
If not, then I have sent you a private message on this forum. When you log in, you will see at the top LHS 'User Control Panel' in blue. click on 'new messages' to see it.
It is the email address of our current Membership Secretary.

Just received the September Jowetteer magazine, (12 hours after my last post here) and on page 5 saw that Lisa and you are now Club members, so please ignore most of the previous post.
On page 31 of the Sept. mag. you'll see the name of someone relatively local (Bradford) who might still do upholstery.
He is listed in the 2016 membership list.

Of course, SOME of us don't get their Jowetteer until they get back from their latest trip to Wales.
I'm thinking of changing my mailing address! (not really, but thinking about it!).
PS As you have (en)listed Lisa, I am sure she would be made very welcome by all the other Jowett widows at Section meetings and rallies.
