Please read the posts in this topic. You should now see a padlock, click on it and you see a trusted certificate from GoDaddy verifying Jowett.net is the site with which you are communicating .
Certificates are used by the browser to confirm the authenticity of the website asking for a secure connection. They help to prevent spoofing.
Things to note about the secure link.

Still working on it.
I know some are upset by the disruption to JowettTalk since November but there are some challenges integrating and securing the extensive services the site offers, all of which has to be done whilst keeping costs low. The challenges are there because there is constant change in the threats posed by the Internet and the measures taken to combat them. The current technology uses certificates (similar to a policeman's badge or warrant card) issued by 'trusted' companies that the browser recognises and can verify. The browser checks the certificate against the name of the website with which it is trying to communicate to verify the website's identity. The issuing certificate authority has previously verified that the person requesting the certificate is who they say they are, thus creating a trust.
Establishing trust between a website and a person sitting at a PC is necessary as some of the services on the site hold personal information. The person needs to know they are giving their personal information to a site they trust.
The certificate used since November allowed the website to set up a secure connection to the user's PC but it did not have Jowett.net as the domain which is confusing and created a lot of work changing links.
At the JCC Ltd exec meeting it was agreed to set up a PayPal system so that all members could use the service to renew and pay and they could trust they were dealing with the club rather than an individual (me) who had been providing the service. This will save me some work transferring subscription payments!
In preparation for this I needed to set up (and pay for) a dedicated IP address and a secure certificate allocated to the domain rather than one that is shared so as to provide a better degree of trust with the website.

Fixed-well nearly.
Ok I bit the bullet and paid the money so know we have a trusted certificate issued by GoDaddy. So your browser will be happy and display a green padlock
It only took 3 hours on the help line to get the hosting service fixed.
Please make sure you change all the links in JT and JG to go to https://jowett.net rather than https://just149.justhost.com or http://jowett.net
You can now check you are talking to Jowett.net by clicking on the padlock in your browser address bar and checking that the trusted certificate from GoDaddy says you are communicating with Jowett.net.

Fixed- hopefully all links are changed
I have trawled the Jowett.org and Jowett.net websites and the JowettTalk and JowettGallery databases changing all the links. Please advise me of any links which you find are not working. Please tell me the url where the link is and the url of the link, as this will help me find and correct.

Gallery Remote URL
Note the URL used for Gallery Remote should be set to http://jowett.net/gallery
This is chosen with Options tab, Preferences, URLs, New
Use your JowettTalk username and password and set the 'Gallery Type' to standalone.

bbcode video
Note that the embedded video display does not work over the secure link (probably because encrypting video is processor intensive)
so viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3448 does not show video but http://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3448 does.
However, clicking that insecure link drops your session and you have to login again.
