Events 2016
Our Annual Pre-Christmas Lunch on the 6th December at the Marks Tey Hotel, Colchester, was again very enjoyable. For various reasons our numbers were reduced to only twenty-three although the weather in this neck of the woods was quite glorious: dry, sunny and mild - and that in early December. Even so, only Mike and Olive Cross ventured out in their lovely Javelin. Two ‘new’ cars appeared on the Anglian scene in 2015. The beautifully restored Bradford of Ian and Pat Martin, from which one could feel happy memories being generated, and the very good Jupiter of Richard Keil, a really excellent car which put in its first appearance at our May meeting. Steve will need to look to his laurels! And of course who will forget the epic Continental odyssey of those intrepid Jowetteers Tony Gouldsmith in his pristine Long 4 tourer and Daniel Bangham in his Long 4 saloon. Tony probably doubled the ‘from new’ mileage of his remarkable car. We have yet to plan events for 2016 and the Section Committee is to meet on January 16th to sort matters out. So if you have any preferences or ideas generally please do let us know. But I anticipate an indoor meeting, perhaps in March, in our new venue at Great Leighs and of course our ever popular Spring Lunch at Channels Golf Club in Chelmsford sometime in April. However, I trust you have all now recovered from your Christmas festivities and have written down your New Year Resolutions so you don't forget them. How about adding “More Jowett fun in 2016”? All the very best to you all for the New Year to and from all in East Anglian Section.
