Although the authorities don't like it, there is an old buff log book for sale on Ebay at the moment. However, not everyone is into classic car cloning and for some of us these documents can make interesting reading. It is for Javelin FCX 380 EO PB 11238D. It is a continuation book (those of us of a certain age will be aware that these books used used to be stamped every time the vehicle was taxed and hence the books "consumed").
Anyway, to my point. It is possible to see that a new engine was fitted on 17th October 1960 and it was number JUR / Z / 6109 / N. I am aware that reconditioned Jowett engine usually had a plate near the bell housing bearing the prefix "R" or "RO". Of course, because it is the book, it is not possible to see how this number was applied to the engine - stamp or add on plate. The codes given in this log book are a bit of a mystery. Suggestions anyone?
