Before the European tour of 13 capitals I altered the water feed pipes to the blocks so that straight pipe was used, since we did not have room to carry all the spares and straight pipe would be available anywhere.
Well whilst draining the SA with Peter's engine in I checked the filter (sock) I had put into the reducer pipe. It was much cleaner than previously but still some sludge, and all manner of debris ran out of the tap holes when I took the temp sensors out of them.
On refitting, I split the top hose so decided to complete the conversion to straight pipe at the top. I had an aluminium reducer, but not like the one I made for the SC which incorporated the Y piece as well. The filter was now installed a bt further down , at the end of the (now parallel) wide pipe before the reducer. Much easier to check.
Straight water pipe everywhere.
