2 Quick Questions

Post by SamWise »

Hi all

2 final questions on spec that I couldn't track down answers to. What was the Javelins price when launched, and what was the fuel consumption of the original model? Any help would be much appreciated!

Ihave a copy of a 1949 2000 mile continental Road Test by the MOTOR magazine. That quotes a price of £750 plus £201 1s 8d Purchase Tax and a fuel consumption of 25.6 mpg using French fuel..

I have just thought to look in "The Complete Jowett History" and on page 96 it states that in 1947 the Javelin selling price was £640 plus £178 10s 7d purchase tax. A radio was an extra at £31 19s 6d plus tax.
