I am in the process of trying to get the Bradford registered, and have to complete a V55/5 form which has the various details that it will be registered with.
If you have a Bradford van V5 to hand, can you help with what you have on your form under the following categories:
Tax Class (assume this is "Historic" same as the other cars, but guidance notes suggest "Petrol Car" or "Light Van" or similar)
Type of Body (I'm not sure quite what wording to use here)
Number of seats - it will be fitted with two seats for now, but obviously there is potential to put additional seats into it and convert as many did in the past - am I better putting 2 or allowing for 6 in case I end up putting seats in, presumably this is what the police will check if stopped when deciding the maximum number of passengers?
Thanks in advance.
Jack.

Re: V5 Help
Oh Jack!
The fun I had with the Licensing Authorities in Liverpool in the 1960's when I went to put the Bradford I had recovered from scrap back on the road.
The van had belonged to a greengrocer and had previously been registered as a trade vehicle. I now wanted to tax it as a private vehicle.
I recall a lot of queries and form filling in the tax office. Did it have external mirrors? (No). An internal mirror? (Yes. Most of the silvering had peeled off but they didn’t ask about that). Side windows? (Yes), Rear windows? (Yes, but they were rather yellow – again they didn’t ask about that). Were there properly mounted seats? (Well, the REAR ones were an integral part of the body, and the front ones were fixed as long as you didn’t tilt them forw . . . ?).
Best of luck with your enquiries, but I can't help - Sorry!

Re: V5 Help
Given my previous encounters with the DVLA, I am hoping to avoid all the potential confusion on each question - I can see them querying almost every answer.
That said, registering other cars has been fairly straightforward, we at least have the brown logbook and bits of paperwork to support the application so hopefully it will go through ok, but it is certainly anything other than straightforward paperwork! They'd be better off saying "Is there another car on the road which is identical to this vehicle, if so please provide registration number" and then copying the details across!

Re: V5 Help
I've got to send the paperwork off fairly soon, as if they take the anticipated several weeks to process it could be later than planned getting it on the road.
Surely there are Bradford owners out there with a V5 they could look at for me?
Thanks in advance.
