Just to confirm that, now I have the final instructions, the race is Race 9 on SUNDAY!!. This is different from the entry form but this is now what it is.
Practice is at 9:30 and the race itself at 12:05.
.................
I have just put the first 100 miles on OKD now and things seem to be going fine. I am going to enter the Fisker event at the MG Live event at Silverstone. This is just a "heads up" in case you wanted to come along. For me, it will be very experimental. The car, me and the support systems are all relatively untried but we have to start somewhere and this looks like being a nice event.
More info to follow in due course.
Best Regards
Richard Gane

A “Gane Jupiter races at Silverstone” - MG Live 16th June 2013
It does seem a long time since we saw a competition Jupiter grace the paddock area at Silverstone.
Richard Gane along with technician David Harris have been building this aluminium body framed lightweight LeMans specification Jupiter E3 SA 917 {OKD 725} for the past 30 months and up until today the Jupiter had covered no more than 100 miles.
On paper and in theory the expectations to date remained untested; today was to be the first time that the Jupiter was going to be asked to perform on a fast open track in mixed competition.
The day started early, Signing on at 08.10; Scrutineering at 08.30 and first practice 09.30. The practice session didn’t go according to plan with a slight gearbox ‘niggle’ and ‘over-fuelling ‘ of the carburettors. Both issues were addressed during the allocated practice time and the Jupiter was once again back on the tarmac.
RACE 9 HISTORIC INTERMARQUE - ICONIC 50’S + T-TYPE ANNIVERSARY RACE scheduled for 30 minutes started on time at 1205. Richard paraded on the warm up lap and we took up our positions on the inside of Copse Corner with Team Jowett supporters, Frank and Christine Woolley, Glenys and Craig Ainge. An audible cheer erupted from the group each time Richard passed safely through the fast right hand corner. However, there was one very anxious moment when the Jupiter didn’t appear when expected. Our nerves settled again when Richard re-appeared from the Pit Lane after taking a compulsory 45 second pause which turned out to be a condition of the race.
We are delighted to report that Richard and the Jupiter completed the 30 minute race totally unscathed with not ‘too shabby’ lap times being within only 2 -3 seconds off the competing MGA’s.
The final race winner was a 3½ litre HWM Jaguar amongst a field of Jaguar XK120’s & XK140’s; Aston Martin DB2/4s; Austin Healey 100’s and a plethora of MG’s.

“ To finish first, you must first finish” [Rick Mears b.1951] - and 0KD 725 certainly did just that – finished its first outing. Well done Richard. There is a lot more to come from the “GANE STABLES”
Looking forward to the next outing. Glenys and Craig Ainge

Two Jupiters race at Silverstone on August 10th
Somehow this event did not get published in JowettTalk, but we had a few members there. David Grounds was officiating in Race Control. Peter Tribble came a long with brother Matthew and took these great pictures. These will be uploaded into gallery to act as a permanent record. There should be more to come.
Graeme Browne was also there to watch the Jowett Jupiters with drivers Richard Gane and John Arnold entered in the Fiscar event (Fifities Car Racing).
The Jupiter team won the team prize
Richard started 18th and finished 14th.
This picture with ex Frank Wooley Jup, John Arnold, Dave 'Spanner' Harris and Richard Gane with his specially prepared racer. TOPIC See detailed pictures here. The guy on the right is Spike Milligan who joined the Jowett Jupiter team in his Jaguar.
