Classic & Sports Car - June 2013

Post by Chris Spencer »

On page 45 is are a couple of good articles relating to the involvement of the younger generation within the classic car movement - even better one of the articles uses the Leeds City College / JCC link as an example - needless to say it's written by a certain 'on the money' 'Jack Moon' . Well done Jack this exactly the right kind of publicity targets that we need to keep achieving.

Well done Jack. Good publicity!
It was also good to see and meet the folk from Leeds City College at the recent event at Event City, Manchester on 6th and 7th April. They were demonstrating their skill at panel beating when I visited their stand.

Hi Paul,

Did they have the car or bits of it with them? Any photos? They are a good bunch, and always happy to have a chat, personally I can't think of an organisation that would have been better for us to get involved with - and just a few miles from the Bradford factory to boot.

The C&SC comment was just common sense to me - they had asked in a previous magazine what the classic car community could do about engaging with the next generation, and it occurred to Chris and I that we were doing exactly that! It is easy to tell a good story, and theirs is one that we are always happy to share with journalists.

Jack.

Hi Jack

No. No car and no bits and pieces but they were shaping various mudguards and wings (not Javelin!) as demo. They are a friendly enthusiastic bunch as you say.
