Forum update
The Forum software has just been updated to Version 3.0.11 the latest available. Please let me know if you notice any issues. I am about to check if it has fixed a download of pdf attachments onto Android phones.

It has not. You still get the error that the download type is unknown. It is a reported problem; but the PHPBB development team are blaming the Android development team!
