correct oil for prewar backaxle

Post by john sproule »

Can anyone tell me whether it is safe to use Hypoid EP90 in a 1927 back axle or should it be non - a non Hypoid straight EP 90 oil ? I understand the additives in Hypoid oils attack phosphor bronze. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. John
