Fascinating pictures here of the snowy 1952 Monte Carlo, with several Jowetts:

Looking at the lists of starters there were a few more Jowetts.
Becquart, Car 1 (5th)
Latune/Gay, Car 47 (58th)
Mrs Vaughan, Car 76
Braid, Car 84 (148th)
Grounds, Car 89 (60th)
Nelson Harris, Car 105
Ellison, Car 120
Odell , Car 122
Russell, Car 129
Norlander, Car 186 (16th)
C.A . Johnassen, Car 225
Foster, Car 226 (37th)

Classified finish positions are in brackets.
One might say that the Lisbon start was more favourable and the Car 186 effort, as chronicled on Jowett.org, was the most impressive.

Allard's effort as being the only Glasgow starter without penalty is remarkable; but car 186 was the best on regularity and would have won the event overall had it not been for a penalty of 80 points. A Jowett winning the Monte Carlo!!!

Thanks for this Philip, I'll bet most of us haven't seen these photos before.

Tony.
