I would add a caution on towing with modern veciles...
Up to the 90s the family boat/carvan was towed with the family car, usually a 6 cylinder, (in this part of the world a Ford Falcon or a Holden.)

With the advent of lighter materials, collapsable panels and (no) chassis design, we are now seeing gaps appear in the rear doors/ boot lid not closing or fitting. Door catches not working, cracks in bodywork joins

Manufactures these days dont rate by % ..there ratings are more like 500 or 750kg...way below the t4aditional ratos...even on tradition models that for yrs where used and designed for towing.


If your are going to tow...get a 4x4 or something like a small ute witl a full chassis, otherwise your nice family car will be no longer nice, but a heap of junk.
