Re: 10,000th Post on Jowett talk
Congrats to all on achieving such a milestone!
I have to say, that compared to many chat forums, Jowett Talk to a large extent contains much sensible, useful, intelligent conversation, some babble, piffle and esoteric indulgence as well and varied standards of English, but we're none of us perfect are we? And all capable of talking rot on occasions!! What is so good is that as a community, Jowett Talk welcomes input from all and is embracing and non critical.
What is the average post/day since inception figure?
What is the % of all registered club members that appear (as against just view) on Jowett Talk?
I should think our aim should be to greatly increase the above two figures and drag JCC into the 21st. century.
What about an online wikijowetteer!! (There's an administrators nightmare for you!)

Re: 10,000th Post on Jowett talk
The wikiJowetteer! Well there is an idea. I had thought about organising or editing some of the input on JowettTalk (Peter Holden suggested doing it for the Great SC rebuild); but I find the spontaneity of what is often a blog on some topics difficult to better.
Ed Nankivell has for years generated a newsletter that is just about right.
Anybody can start a newsletter on JowettTalk or JowettGallery (which with its comment capability and reorganising capability is slightly better as a newsletter framework). Some have suggested using Wordpress or other tool but you may as well just send me a PDF, Word or HTML document and I can put on Jowett.net. It really is not difficult for me to do.
We have the North American newsletters in the Gallery. Why not all the other section newsletters?
The beauty of the website is that everyone can be editors without copy deadlines. If any of you want your own magazine spot then start one in the Gallery or JowettTalk and direct people to it from JowettTalk. If you get a readership then we can make it part of the jowett.org/home page. That was the idea of the forums for each section on JowettTalk linking to the new website layout of jowett.net.
