New Year's Greetings - here's to a successful year!
Can someone please advise the best source for king-pins and bushes to suit a 1925-7 Model Short-Two Jowett front axle?
Is there anything special about these king-pins to stop getting them made locally? Having never seen a king-pin set, I can't respond to a request for information.
All the best,
Mike Allfrey, Melbourne, Australia.

Re: Vintage Jowett Parts Enquiry
Made locally....some of the old hot rodders (Hot Rodder means American 'steel') often use shock absorber shafts out of cars and motor bikes that are already surface hardened and sized, curt to length, ends machined /threaded.
Even if metric the bushes can be reemed to size.
I have had king pins made up, and other similar items, but the surface hardnening and sizing gets expensive.

Dear Keith,
Thanks for the information.
I was speaking with a club member, who lives in a drier part of Queensland, who has two new sets of the genuine article. End of concern.
Regards.

Re: Vintage Jowett Parts Enquiry
Glad to hear you're now sorted.
I tried to ring I.P. (of JCS Ltd.) this morning to see what we have to offer over here, but I only got his voice mail.
Would have tried again tomorrow (oops, - later today).
All the best,
Tony.

Re: Vintage Jowett Parts Enquiry
This could be worthy of a closer look.
Whatever stock is currently available won't last forever and this might be a cheaper option to having them made from 'scratch'. It might even be worth JCS putting some in stock?
The bushes are relatively simple and would be 'standard' apart from the bore - to suit the pin.
Does anyone 'in the trade' have any ideas about potential donor shocks?
Or have I got it all wrong?!
