North of the River meet

The Eagle pub (next to the Kings Langley Jowett garage) re-opened this week after a two year refurbishment. It has been done out in a retro decor and has already attracted a fortnightly car night on Monday evenings (starting tomorrow). Today the club had a check out and brought along about a dozen 'customised' cars including a full blown dragster. It was trailored; but made a hell of noise when it was running. A very sociable crowd.

The Jup created much interest with a number knowing Jowetts and Jowett owners. So I expect the North of the River (Southern Section, South Midlands and East East Anglia) could make this a regular do. We intend to have regular weekend afternoons as well, along the lines of technical or social natters.

The Eagle has good food and is really a cafe and bed and breakfast, but does sell some beer. It has lots of parking and a couple of fields that I will try to get the use of, if required for camping or car display. There is a Premier Inn and Holiday Inn also within staggering distance. So we might extend an afternoon into an evening.
